The National AIDS and STIs Control Programme NASCOP runs many programmes and is the most active unit involved in the implementation of the National HIV/AIDS Strategic Plan.

The new Kenya National Strategic Plan (KNASP) 2005/6 - 2009/10 was developed through active and collaborative involvement of a wide range of partners including government entities, civil society organizations, the faith-based community, the private sector and development partners.

The strategic plan thus enjoys broad ownership among stakeholders.
